How our dear young children can be moved by Shakespeare!
John Heffernan, British theatre and screen actor, shares his first experience of Shakespeare:

John Heffernan is currently playing Macbeth absolutely brilliantly and with an extremely clear elocution. The production itself is modern and non-literal ( so peculiar ) but it invites to reflection ( amongst other things, there is a reflection on post traumatic stress disorder as Macbeth might have suffered from it, being a brave soldier ' unseam(ing) him [his ennemy] from the nave to the chaps').

The place where people can watch plays for free in Stratford-Upon-Avon during the summer is called the Dell:
The Dell was launched as part of the Complete Works Festival in 2006 and has hosted more than 250 amateur theatre companies, community groups, schools, universities and professional theatre companies to growing audience numbers of all ages.
Productions are:
suitable for outdoor space with no access to power
suitable for a family audience
no longer than 90 minutes long
written or inspired by Shakespeare
According to what I have heard, some productions are amateurish but some others are really well played!

Funnily, the expression 'What the dickens'? seems to be unconnected with Charles Dickens, as it was used by Shakespeare!
'I cannot tell what the dickens his name is' (Merry Wives of Windsor III, ii).
