Absolutely, they realised going at it head on wasn't working. They have tried to and probably succesfully buried their U turn admist other stuff and will ultimatelly get it in via the back door. It will be disasterous for the future of many children if that happens.

This article is not about academies ; it is a recommendation for teachers to be maverick...

He went on to say that a “hint of menace” helps teachers to be especially good at their jobs.
Really? In my expereince children don't learn well if they fear their teacher.

I didn’t post this article because I agree with it! :wink: In fact, I find even the title itself surprising , as it seems to call the teachers to ‘rebel against the education system’. Is it not what teachers have done for months and months… but to no avail? :shock:

Guest55, I agree with you that fear is not a feeling teachers should generate; I would prefer the terms ‘respect’ and ‘eagerness to learn’. When I hear that some of my DS’s teachers tell their pupils that they are available at lunch time to answer any questions (for example before a test), I feel so grateful towards these dedicated teachers! :D :D
