Yes we send our older DC (year seven and eight) to bed by 9pm, although earlier if they are tired. It takes so much longer now to get through the homework, sort out what they need for the next day and have a bit of time to chill. But they are still all dead to the world when I drag them out again at 7 the next morning!

Any tips for "draging" them out of bed in the morning?

my DD's should be at breakfast table at 07.30 and we leave for school at 08.00, invaribly DD in yr8 appears about 07.50 despite nagging and finally threats

Yr5 DD goes to bed 20.30 and Yr8 at 21.00 but allowed to read until 22.00.

This constant nagging start to the day is driving me mad :x

Northkentmum,
I think an electronic cattle prod might do the trick.
I go up to DS 3 times at 5 minute intervals before I finally lose it and just throw his duvet on the floor!

we set the bedroom clocks 10 minutes fast.

but it only works if they don't have a TV or radio in the room (or nearby Church be11s that to11 the hours). They don't keep their mobiles on in the night or in their rooms.

They are always amazed that we are in the car just in time for the 8am news.

Hi

My son just started Y7. His bedtime is between 9:30pm- 10pm latest. Light out until the next morning at 6:45am.

He was exhausted for the first 2 weeks with daily commuting and homework. However, he seems less tired this week. Hope to keep it that way!!

Miss yoyo swears by a cold flannel whacked in Master yoyo's face when he won;t get up.

I handed it over to her when I REALLY needed to get tough.

She turns the boiler off when he has been in the shower too long and she wants to get into the bathroom too.

AHH Sibling devotion
