Dear Ed's mum,
Alex had that bug 2 weeks ago as did most of his friends at school. It takes about 3-4 days until they are ready to go back to school.
Don't worry about the exams I'm sure he will be fine.
I have just cheered myself up on this cold and frosty morning by sending off holiday deposit for next Aug. Seems ages away but I can feel the Spanish sun when I see the pictures.
Hope DD better soon.
Zorro.

Oh dear, I hope she is quicker to recover than that...it is so hard when both parents work to know what to do when a child is ill!!

How lovely to be thinking of holidays right now, good plan Zorro!!

Thanks for your kind wishes.

Yes I worked as a nurse until last year and had to leave home early in the morning so had to make decisions about whether children were too ill to go to school very early too. Consequently several times by lunchtime they were as right as rain and driving me nuts!

Woke up this morning with temperature, runny nose and awful cough.

Slipped on ice in front of about a hundred other parents on way into school  .

Discovered I had stepped in dog poo on the way home :x.

Just discovered OH has taken last paracetamols and have managed to spill Calpol down my front (well I was drinking it straight out of the bottle)!

Have now got to smell like this for the rest of the day because have just emptied the washing machine to find EVERYTHING covered in little bits of tissue.

Might just do the school run in my pyjama top with a big coat.

I am planning to pick Ed up from his exams in my pyjamas too (and a long coat!!)

I hope that the rest of your day goes more smoothly...

Bet you had to drink gallons of Calpol!
That happened to me the other day - I had to take 4 Calpol meltlets which were vile.
Hope your day improves - the tissue thing is s00000 annoying!
When you come back from school make yourself a hot honey and lemon drink - it really helps.

You must not write this on an open forum, sycamore.
People will look out for you and hope you have another little mishap on the pavement. They might even be pouring water on the school front drive in the hope that it will freeze in time for school pick up.

Commiserations to all ill on this thread. Have to go before I catch any lurgies off you. Hope you get all better soon.
