HOCKEY STICKS
Hi .
I would appreciate some guidance on hockey sticks.
DS has been picked for School Under 12B team and has ben told by Games master that he needs to have his own stick now. As the prices range from £20 up to £100+ , what kind of price should I be paying?
I thought about £50? This is for a composite stick. Are Kookaburra a good brand? The only ones I have ever heard of are Grays.
All advice gratefully received!

mad?
Sticks can vary greatly in weight..... I would go to a specialist hockey shop (you normally find hockey/cricket in the same shops).
There should be one or two in your area.
Then he can have a try out of a couple and see what feels comfortable. In a specialist shop you will also get some good advice. Once you know what you want you have then te option of the internet for some good deals.
Buying one now should see you getting a bargain....I play club hockey and spend approx £60 -70 on a stick.
As he is still growing it is not worth paying a fortune...he will outgrow it.
Try to get a £30/40 stick at a lower price.
I am a fan of 'Grays' ... as they do a stick with a greater weight at the hook end...I play at the back so you can give the ball a good tap.
