KS2 SATS ( Year 6)

Post by tweet555 »

Dear Parents,
My DD will be sitting for SATS (ks2, Year 6) in few months and I am wondering if anyone can suggest good books or practice material, websites and any advice so that she score well in the exams?

Many thanks in advance

These are a long way behind me, and it never occurred to me to do any practice with my children, I think the usual advice is usually that they will cover everything they need to in school - these tests are for the school not the child, so I would say, just let them enjoy year 6. If you really want them to practice, I'm sure WH Smiths or Amazon do plenty, and hopefully someone will be along to recommend or otherwise.

There are old KS2 test papers freely available on line.

I expect they will do the 2016 papers in class so avoid those.

Older papers are available based on the old NC.

If you are looking at the maths papers, there is no longer a calculator paper.

There are a lot of published tests available now based around the new 2016 tests but old papers and the level 6 papers would be a good start. The new papers are harder than the old 3-5 papers.
