DD2 has just had her school report .

In Science it says well done you have reached your target level 7.

She achieved level 5 at the end of year 6 and is now in year 8.

Does that mean you are expected to go up one level a year at Grammar School?

Perhaps they mean Level 7 was her personal target, which is above what is expectd. My son's assessments include his own targets each term and this may be done at your DD's school. I may be wrong but I think Level 7 is what's expected at end of Year 9

Expected progress is two levels over KS3 - but in Maths about half of level 5s get to level 8 -

The KS3 tests were 'capped' at level 7 in Science but you still get TA level 8 -with the tests now not being official perhaps more children will get level 8.
