I would say it's purely down to personality as with adults.
My DH would fill the house with people every weekend if I agreed, he was brought up in the Middle East where that is the norm. I like to relax at the weekend but don't mind having people over if it's pre-arranged whereas he would invite people on the spur of the moment .
This has caused a few arguments over the years as you can imagine!!
So our children are probably the same.

spanner in that theory flying in here: in my case it's older sociable boy and younger, happy-with-own-company younger boy. Dread to think what sort of girl I'd have had.
