No experience, but all I can say is don't forget insurance!

Hi there, it may be slightly different for your son as mine went to Africia so took stuff we didnt mind him leaving there...he was helping to build a school so left most of his clothes with the locals so obviously took old t-shirts and shorts that didnt need to come home! Made it easier to abandon stuff than carry it all dirty home again.
Took a couple of uninflated footballs and a pump too - again to play with in his group then left with a group of kids. :D
