Year 7 targets

Hello all, I have just finished reading a very pleasant end of year 7 report for my DD.

It was all very good and lovely, however there is one thing that bothered me...predicited targets!!

Now tell me are these for real or for just scaring our kids for ..the reason I ask is that the DD was predicted a 7C for maths but only acheived a 6c..which I still thought was pretty fab...even for a grammar school that still seems a pretty high target to acheive.

Yet in English was predidcted a 5b but acheived a 6c also??

whoops was also told that next year she should learn to revise more for history and geography and Frenc, and then she would have gained higher point.

Well anyway I have decided to take this year with a pinch of salt, as DD has already told me she will work harder next year, and take the whole year as a leaning curve..after all they worked hard to get there in the 1st place !!

...you cant get kicked out of grammar school can you ????

are you sure the predicted target for maths was the end of this year ? or some time in the future...

whatever the answer the current results sound fine - DD was set silly targets which she exceeded easily (should think so too!!) battle was to get the targets changed..

Can you get kicked out? Have known a few who just couldn't get on with the work and it was suggested that they may better elsewhere  - others left after GCSE. Can;t imagine any of them got those sort of grades in year 7 though.
