Grammar school homework

Post by katel »

Did any of your children have to give up their out of school activities in order to get the homework done? I have a horrible feeling my daughter will and I know she'll find it hard to choose which ones.

Hi Katel,

My son didn't, but he only had two activities a week. He had about 1hr / 5 days a week worth of homework.
He was told by older kids that the worload will increase steeeply from y8 onwards.
The amount of homework varies from school to school.

Best wishes for the start of year 7.

No. After school activites actually increased! Year 7 was no problem for homework. Not sure what Y8 will be like though.

Year 7 and Year 8 have been OK - two night out for activities - it's the 'next day' deadlines that are the killlers - most schools should be flexible and NOT do this -
