Hi,
I hope someone whose children do it reads this... I would appreciate any comments from insiders. Im particularly interested in drama, dance and singing classes. How professional are the teachers? Do children get enough attention? Do they prepare for lets say Trinity drama exams?
My daughter was doing Stagecoach for about five years. Passed her grade 3 drama exam. She enjoyed it and still does, but the school we are going to is expanding now and children are lucky enough to get a sentence to say during the show....Can we expect drama classes at Brit be more challenging? Please share your experience. Thank You.

Hi,
I don't know the school; hopefully someone who does will be along soon, however, I know a little about Drama Schools.

Have you and your DD gone along to have a look at the classes on Saturday? Make a list of questions to ask.

It's a bit like asking is a particular university a good one... Yes, some are by reputation, others have amazing departments, and some have other aspects that draw students to them. E.g. sport, campus, area etc. Perhaps considering this Saturday school is similar? Some aspects may be amazing, but others not so. Is it a good fit for your DD? Does it provide what you're looking for?

Ask yourself what you want from it?
Good training for an application to a CDS Drama School later? Or just somewhere your DD can embrace and enjoy a hobby?
Best wishes. :D

Hi,
Just the right post to come along for what has been bubbling in my mind. My DD did Speech and drama at primary school and did some Lamda certificates. I know I should know which level but I dont off hand. She was also doing roles in school productions by the end of Primary school. She is is now doing drama as part of curriculum. Because she is gets chosen for the music support for performances or either because she does not volunteer and the school is much bigger, she has not been part of any production so far. Also, the drama curriculum does not include speech.

Does anyone know of a speech/ drama class where the emphasis is more on speech rather than dance/singing/ performance so she can continue to maintain her level of confidence on stage. As her music schedule is quite demanding (Saturday mornings and also thinking of Friday afternoons for local youth orchestra), I would like prefer something less intense and more fun based.
