DD has just been on a similar thing - the zip wire sounds familiar. there were loads of activities (we had a timetable beforehand) and so I reckon that they didn;t spend too long doing any one activity. I didn't get the feeling that they were pushed into anything and if they were nervous or anxious lots of encouragement was given.

Notionpotion,
Has your daughter been on bonding trip yet?
My DS went away with his Y7 the day after they all started at new school!!
They went on a PGL activity break with all the usual zip wires etc.
He had a great time and made several friends. I think it was a really good idea as now they all got to know each other out of the school environment.
I'm sure she will have a great time (if she hasn't been yet)

Hi Zorro,
She goes next week. Not really thought too much about it funnily enough as been too busy with settling in, mountainous amounts of homework etc.
But now you mention it...........!
I am reassured by the previous comments and kinda hope she just goes for it!
Glad your DS enjoyed it (and so soon after joining the school too-extra stressful!).
I will let you know how it goes.

DD back from trip and her first words to me were "You will not believe the things that I have done!" She really enjoyed it and did everything that was placed before her, some of it sounded pretty scarey too.
Spent the next day scraping all the mud off her clothes but all in all it was really worthwhile. She knows some more people and her confidence has grown.
I think she was quite proud of herself and I was super-proud of her too!
Don't know what I was worried about now. :)

See, I told you she'd love it!!
So good to see them all settling in to their new schools, but thank goodness it's nearly half term!
