Belated thanks for your replies Bewildered and Guest55, been AWOL over half term as I have too many children. Now I think about it something I was told when my children started at the school confirms what you have said about the predicted levels.
I can only assume that predicting for key stage 1 is a bit of a minefield anyway because some parents will do oodles of pre-school prep and others, like myself
very little, hence DS3's low predictions.
We have a parents evening coming up soon so will be able to have a rather more informed chat about DS2's maths thanks to all the other info you have given me as well Guest55. Am focusing on the reading myself as part of his 11+ prep anyway. The reason I mentioned it was because I have never though of him as a gifted reader because he doesn't love books in the way DS1 does and it is just a struggle to get him to read anything.
