Paper 11A , Section 5, Q11
This is a type where there are two figures that are alike and we need to find the one that is most like these two figures.
According to the answer Key, the correct answer for this question is option d.

Can someone please explain the reason for this answer.

Assuming I have the right question (shaded shapes), this is how I have explained it previously:

Question 11: Do my elimination. Both shapes are 4 sided so that eliminates B. Both have diagonal so that eliminates E. Both have shading at angle to diagonal so that eliminates C. You are left with A and D. It is D because the base is a horizontal as the two shapes are, as opposed to the base of A which is on a slant. You must be able to select features that eliminate down to only one possible solution.

We did get our elimination to the point where we had only a and d left, but after that we were lost. Now, we get it.
