Cubes and Nets

Can anyone offer any tips on solving these types of question
(net to cube, cube to net and which net cannot make the cube etc)?? This is the only type my daughter consistently has problems with.
Do any of the CDs or books offer advice?

Thanks

Hello Ray,

Are you the same Ray posting under Lincolnshire? If so I think you can forget worrying about cubes and nets for the 11 plus (though these questions come up in SATS). The NVR paper in Lincs last year followed the types of questions asked in the commercially available NFER NVR papers.

I'm glad you said that as my child struggles with those questions in the Bond NVR books. I wonder why they put them in if they are not in the exam?

Alex,

Yes I am the same Ray. My request was based on the nets in the Bond books and the other threads which seem to state that the actual papers differ from the practice papers (see 'Question types for Lincs' in the Lincs section and 'NFER Tests' in the VR section).

Just trying to avoin the 'surprise' question types.

Thanks, Ray.

If you want to be able to do these for KS2 NC tests then I would trecommend cutting out copies of the nets and trying to fold them. Most pupils will then begin to 'see' what the problem is and then ill be able to do these in future -
