nfer nvr 11b..help needed

Post by yoyo123 »

section 1 no 11 answer sgould be c

why?

The N in teh first pair is rotated, but teh V (equivalent to N) is not..

Section 2 no 10 answer should be c

by our reckoning P,Q refers to horizontal or vertical
(therefore 2nd letter =Q)

O, N refers to shaded or not shaded triangles (therefore N)

now according to us the S or T refers to traingles facing left or right..

therefore answer should be NQT not NQS...

Can you put us out of our misery??

Hmm. see from my scribblings on our copy of paper B that son got no. 11 Section 1 wrong. I think the answer is c because the main part of the first shape (disregarding the N and the shape that looks like a tv arial) has rotated 90 degrees clockwise. That narrows it down to a or c. In the example the tv arial then moves down under the line and the N takes its place. So, in the answer, the tv arial moves down under the line and the V, which was at the end of the line, takes its place. Does that make any sense at all??!!!

As for number 10 in section 2, in my answer booklet NQT is e. :?

Thanks for your help!

we came tothe same conclusion aboy the v and television aerial just plumped for the best fit

in teh 2nd one NQT is e, but according to them the answer should be c NQS....

These NVR question are rapidly increasing my grey hairs. At least with VR you can type the question rather than rely on describing a load of squiggles!

How odd. The answer in my booklet is most definitely e - NQT. Mine are 2 or 3 years old so I wonder if you've got a reprint with an error in it?

I think NVR questions are quite intriguing, but how anyone, never mind a 10/11 year old can work out the answers in 30 seconds is beyond me!

double checked and it is c in ine (new this year) but :D :D :D :D :D

I now know that we wee right!

NQT it is.

I agree that some are very difficult, I have been reassuring pupils that they do not need to get every one right in order to pass.

[quote="yoyo123"]section 1 no 11 answer sgould be c

why?(/quote]

Rotate shape quarter turn clockwise, so a,c, or e.

Set of three balls moves so move oval in a similar fashion, so C.

Double checking, N shape moves to top, so V shape moves to top (hat).

Shape with lines tucks in ( bit off line but might be my eyes ! )

I think the key is to try and "see the answer" not waste time working out all the detail. The above first two steps give the answer, I quickly looked at other steps but they were harder to visualise..........

This was a code question though Steve. We had worked out teh code but the (misprinted) answer didn't tally with that.

I do agree though, better to move on than spend ages. Sometimes I think we adults read too much in to questions
