This sounds like a stupid question but do dyslexic children go to grammar school? My daughter is only in year 3 and has a diagnosis of mild-moderate dyslexia. Her maths is not too bad but she has difficulty reading and her spelling is really bad. I cannot imagine her ever doing a verbal reasoning test. She has specialist teaching and her IQ is above normal but I cannot see how she will improve that significantly in two and a half years. Does anyone have experience of a dyslexic child going to grammar school. Incidentally we live in London so would face very stiff competition.

Thank you.

Yes - there are lots of children with dyslexia in Grammar schools - it would help you to get an 'official' diagnosis so your child can have extra time in KS2 NC tests and 11+.
