We did it --- assessed for GrammAr school------ and without extra time.

A bit of history.....

DS diagnosed with dyslexia at 7 (year 2) With a reading age 5.

DS worked hard....very hard with help of a tutor to bring up his reading age and help with spelling (which is still an issue). School were little help to start with and no help from year 4, then in year 5 I asked for extra time in 11+ and was refused twice.

I helped him with the necessary 11+ material.

However, we have the result today ------ He will be going to grammAr school.

I hope this tale may bring some hope to anyone in a similar situation.

very well done to your son.

I know he will enjoy it at TWGSB. My son is there with Aspergers Syndrome, and the Pastoral care is fantastic.

Congratulations!
To others giving it a go - it can be done!
We've managed it 3 times now (thankfully no more to go through :) )

Congratulations, and what a fantastic example for those who have dyslexic or children with SEN who think GS is beyond them. :D
