Maths

Post by Salfordmum »

Hello all. The other day, somewhere on this forum, someone had posted a list of maths topics that children generally need more practice with, and I forget where! I have looked through all the sections and cannot find it - can anyone help? thanks!

Not eactly, but its very helpful! Theone I was looking for stated areas that children specifically struggle with, I thought it might be useful to have a quick check through it. But thank you.

perimeter and area tend to be confusing, especially for irregular shapes.

scale and ratio

mean , median, mode, range

probability

algebra (especially the which statement isn't true) ones.

rotational symmetry tends to throw some children too.

problem solving.

That gives me some reassurance, as we are covering those. We havent done range, so could do that quickly over the next 2 weeks. Is it just my child that sometimes seems to forget everything she's ever learnt??!! Thanks for your help.
