Hi Nathair

Clitheroe Grammar follow along the same lines as the Lancaster Grammar Schools - they all do the same test on the same day.

The letter we received last year from LGGS stated that our daughter had reached the required standard and that she had been offered a place (as long as you put LGGS down as your first choice you would definately get a place). The school advises the LEA who places have been offered too.

So at least you will know by the 16th if your child has been offered a place - if so there is no harm in putting Skipton Grammar first on the list if that is your preffered school. The LEA will allocate Skipton if a place has been offered and if not Clitheroe will be the school for you. (hope I'm making sense).

At least the Clitheroe Grammar test includes Maths and English along with Verbal Reasoning.

Good Luck for Saturday.

.. yes the Lancs results seem to be coming out incredibly quickly!!!

I think that on of the problems for Nathair is that her DD is out of catchment for both Clitheroe and Skipton -must be that "no mans land" along the A59......

This is what make me think Bfd had earlier results.

However, I have found out from DS that those out of area in Bradford already know their results for the Skipton exam. Thought he must be wrong initially (a pal of his told them his brother found out he hadn't passed this Friday)but then checked the Bradford Met website to find that their CAF has to be in by the 17th, so it must be true. Although it isn't strictly unfair, I do find it rather galling that out of area children and parents are put out of their misery a week earlier.

I think the A59 starts at my house and ends at Nathair's

Take heart Nathair, my dd got in, so might yours!

Hi
yes seems a complicated way to do things - the results come out and some CAFs then get changed .. simpler if they all agreed on a date.

Almost, we're the other side of Pendle to the A59, until we moved last year the A56 was our front street  I've rung both Yorkshire and Lancashire Education offices and both said that there was nothing they could do. Certainly no mention of getting the answers early or changing the CAF after it had gone in. The galling thing is that I don't want the results early, just on the day they are released would be fine. I would be willing to drive over and collect the envelope myself rather then them post it, but no.

On the upside, I've just received the confirmation letter from Clitheroe. The test is on Saturday and I've just got the letter saying she can attend.

Good Luck for tomorrow.

Our daughter was out of catchment for Lancaster (we only had to deal with one LEA though) and she got a place. Now she has started we are really suprised at how many girls are from outside the catchment area.
