I just rang him again because he said he would get back to me and he didn't

"Oh yes, I was meaning to get back to you, the system has no record of your application!"
I've forwarded the electronic receipt to him and he thinks that should be okay, but seriously, how much more stressful can this get!!!!!!!!

Don't accept 'It should be OK'

Was it Gareth Raund you spoke to?

Get him to email you a receipt for your electronic receipt and to acknowledge your application was made in good time and will be treated in line with all other applications.

Keep on at them until you have everything in writing to your satisfaction, it may seem like harassment, but they need it sometime (believe you me they need it!!). Better to harass them now than find your dd wasn't even considered come Allocations Day and you have to apply then!

No, it was Kevin Mahar. He said he would ring me back soon, if he hasn't by 4pm I'll ring him again. This better get sorted, am I right in thinking her chances at getting in to selective are greatly reduced if she goes through as a late application?

Normally yes, it would be almost impossible, although quite where you'd stand if you can show maladministration I don't know - Etienne???

However, with the figures for Skipton this year you should be OK ........................................................................ but I wouldn't want to be taking that sort of a chance and anyway, it wouldn't work for the other schools on your CAF anyway so it really needs sorting NOW.

I would get a copy of the electronic receipt and send it by recorded delivery to the Director of Education.

Yay. I just got off the phone with the Education Office, they have found it!!!!
For some reason, and no-one knows what that reason is, the application and gone into an OOA section, and they didn't bother looking there, because we aren't OOA so it should not have been there

It may be because the top school is Skipton, which is OOA but they don't know for sure.
The main thing is that they have found it, and it will be treated as an on time application. I've asked for them to email me so I have something in writing.

...certainly reinforces the issue of keeping hard copies of emails re admissions etc. What if your hard drive fries and you find yourself with no proof. Ours don't have to be in yet but will certainly be printing off the confirmation.
