appointment with a headteacher

Post by purplerose69 »

Never had this experience before. Why is it so difficult to get an appointment with a headteacher at a Grammar school? The secretaries keep telling me: "If your child is not studying in our school, you cannot see the headteacher." You can meet them only on Open Days. It is exceptionally frustrating, and I cannot find an explanation to it. No matter how busy one can be, why not to meet a parent/s who wish to discuss certain issues in privacy?

Have you tried asking to speak to the head of admissions?

I would assume because if the HT saw every prospective parent he/she wouldn't have time to do anything else. At secondary school most pastoral matters are dealt with by form tutors and year heads - have you asked if you can see the head of year 7?

I've never had a problems seeing a head at a GS - even when kids weren't studying there.
