I am a year ahead of you, DS1 started grammar last september and DS2 is in year 4. I found that the younger ones attitude changed completely once his elder brother went into year 7, he is suddenly very very keen to follow in his big brothers footsteps and is grasping the importance of working hard, and is motivating himself as a result. I like you was a bit despairing this time last year, but am now beginning to see that perhaps GS isn't too big a goal. It may be that your daughter just needs to mature a little and will do so in her own time.
