:? Is there any simple guide to this?! Regarding preparation for, entering in, and anything else relevant that I probably haven't thought of regarding taking the 11+. I have looked at the PDF on the CSSE website and that only has last years data on as far as I can tell, I am not sure what I need to do to start this process for a year 5 to prepare...any advice gratefully welcomed as I am a little in the dark. Thank you.

Hi,

There is lots of advice regarding preparation in the Essex section, also lots of regular members who will be happy to answer any questions.

When you fill in your CAF, given out by primary schools in the September of Year 6 you will also be invited to fill in a supplementary form if you wish to enter your child for the 11plus. We did it all on line and it is very easy. The deadline for entries is the end of October and then the 11plus exam is at the end of November. The CSSE will write to you about 10 days before the exam giving you all the information needed, time, equipment etc.

Have you sent off to the CSSE for the past papers yet? English changed quite a bit last year but old papers will give you an idea of the standard required. There are no copies of the actual VR papers because of copyright but they will send out ones which are of a similar standard.

Good Luck

welcome to the forum.

The actual format if the test depends on the area in which you live.

As the others have said it is worth looking at the 11+ area sections.

I can move this post to the relevant section if you let us know which area you are interested in (Essex?).

If there is anything you don;t understand ,or want more info on, just ask..
