VR CAT score of 132 - insignificant after VR practice?

Post by Bemily »

Dd got a score of 132 in her VR CATS test at the beginning of year five, but had at this stage already done regular VR practice. How much weight can I still put by her score?

Has she done it in previous years and got a very different score? If not, I wouldn't doubt it in your mind. It's a great score and enjoy it. I think many people question the meaning of them a little anyway, but one would think a pretty high score would have some predictive validity. It will help as it will make school set high targets for the future which is always a good thing.

If you search around on this site you'll find a link I provided to a national strategy website that has a detailed paper about CATs.
