Perfect...Thanks a lot Sally-Anne
Though, the move is good but it all depends on the way the result is communicated to parents by the schools... i.e. Not only what score the child achieve but also with that score what would be the probability of getting admission in the school...

Re: The reason for this new section!
No problem. I had actually forgotten that the Draft Code for consultation did say that parents MUST be informed of test results prior to completing the CAF. The move to "all reasonable steps" was one of the amendments made following the consultation. Terrible thing for the brain, Christmas.Talk11plus wrote:Perfect...Thanks a lot Sally-Anne
Yes, it will provide certainty for many parents "based on past performance", provided Admission Authorities give the contextual information needed, but I am afraid that there will still be a lot of people left in the twilight zone until 1st March regardless of that.Though, the move is good but it all depends on the way the result is communicated to parents by the schools... i.e. Not only what score the child achieve but also with that score what would be the probability of getting admission in the school...

BUCKs arrangement...
Annex 2: Provisional arrangements for 11+ selection procedure 2013.
7 September 2012 Deadline for registration for the 11+ tests to be tested in a timely
manner and for test results to be released on the main publication
date
21 September Final deadline to register for the 11+ tests unless the family is
moving into the area
4 October Test 1 (earliest date for children to be tested in LA schools)
10 October Test 2 (earliest date for children to be tested in LA schools)
Autumn Half term Test sessions for non-school testing (these are the ONLY dates for
timely applications).
30 November Publication of results of selection testing for timely applicants.
3 January 2013 Selection appeals start.
On 14 December 2011 the Cabinet Member agreed to the use of the Local Government
Act Power of well-being to maintain the LA’s role in relation to the academic selection
process (11+) for a 2 year period. The use of this power is then reviewed. Full details
can be viewed here: http://democracy.buckscc.gov.uk/ieDecis ... px?ID=2553" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
For 2013 the timeline is expected to be broadly as set out above, but for 2014 it is
expected the timeline will be adapted to comply with paragraph 1.32 of the Draft
Admissions Code which required all selective admission authorities to take all reasonable
steps to inform parents of the outcomes of selection tests before the 31 October closing
date

Re: The reason for this new section!
You need to be a bit sneaky and look through the downloads on Southend Council's website. The one about secondary admissions. Buried near the bottom, 22 September is given as the test date for one of the schools. The other grammars do not give a date.
To further muddy the waters, the draft document on the ChCHS website says that girls must sit the test in either Chelmsford or Colchester. No mention of Southend or Westcliff. Not sure why this is the case. It may be that the Essex and Southend schools are going to do things differently in the future. I suppose that could include format/duration/date of the exam. Or it could just be an oversight!

Hi Coolmum,
It's the WHSG page of the downloads that First-timer has mentioned. Interesting what you've read on the ChCHS website First-timer - hopefully the CSSE will be able to shed light on that one!

Some additional info for gloucester
http://www.cryptschool.org/important-dates/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.ribstonhall.gloucs.sch.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.hsfg.gloucs.sch.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.pates.gloucs.sch.uk/index.php/admission" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.stroudhigh.gloucs.sch.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.marling.gloucs.sch.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
These are the other Gloucesteshire grammar schools. The admissions test ( same test is taken at all schools) is taken on Sat 6th October 2012 and if anything like last year the late test will be the following Thursday. The results arrived over-night by email sent out in batches anytime from the Friday evening to Saturday morning the week following the test- not sure if it will happen again like that next year. CAF is submitted before 31st October and school places offered on 1st March 2013.
Thanks - this has been added
