In Kent they are not allowed to, although apparently some schools run 'enrichment'-type afterschool/lunchtime clubs for the more able pupils.

Very little! But there again as it is an indie they are more interested in squeezing another two years fees out of you!

Our school does not offer any 11+ support, since they believe this can cause division between the children and that is not part of their professional remit.

The school supports the comprehensive system and encourages children of all abilities to apply locally. The general feeling is that children and parents are free to prepare for 11+, but the child's main commitment should be to their schoolwork, however minimal this is.

The school main priority is to bring the lower sets up to the minimum standard required at the end of Y6. Children only need to jump their two measly levels of progress and the school sees its job is done.

Having said that, some senior staff seem genuinely supportive of our efforts to prepare for the 11+ at home, maybe because it will boost the school's poor sats results.

To be honest, if the exam is in September, then the work needs to be done in year 5 (year 6 is leaving it a bit late!!!)
They did also have booster classes for year 5 in easter last year-not sure if they ran it this year...

In Kent, primary school are actively notnallowed to provide any 11+ preparation atnall, except for the familiarisation papers a few days before the test. Any school whichncan be proved to have provided coaching could have all their 11+ results for that year declared null. But schools do, and no parent is going to shop them. And it's only parents who could prove the extra classes were 11+ coaching, not just an enrichment club.

In a nutshell, nothing. They have an extension class for literacy and maths which a limited number of children attend once a week during school but as far as I can tell, they don't cover 11+ stuff. DD has an afterschool club where she works on her own with 11+ VR and Maths but again, there's nothing structured for those who are sitting or preparing for the 11+.
I'm truly incredibly lucky that she's so self-disciplined and self-motivated, otherwise  .......
