Hi All

My DS will be sitting his paper in September. He's doing timed papers and is producing good results. He is however taking far too long to complete the papers, 30 min maths paper completed in 50 mins!! . Any tips on how to increase speed?

Much appreciated

With DS1 we had a race - break the paper down into chunks of 5 or so questions and see who can finish (correctly) first. A bit of healthy competition works wonders 8) .

Ive started to get my DS to talk through his logic as he's doing the test. It helps him focus and let's me see where he is taking guesses and where he's working things through. Somehow that helps him focus and work fairly quickly, although he has missed the last six questions of the paper he did today.
