missed 11+

Or you could say that you have the best of both worlds: Decent comprehensives (not available in 11+ areas where the alternative to grammar is a secondary modern) in Sussex and grammars (TGS, Judd and Skinners) in West Kent that do take children from your area.
Spacewoman's problem appears to be that she didn't apply to a grammar before allocation day. This would have been an equal problem if she had lived next door to the school!

Re: missed 11+
Even if your daughter had taken the 11+ you would have struggled (almost impossible) to get into TWGGs and Weald from Crowborough as the catchment areas are so tight. TGGs would have really been your only option. Cranbrook takes boarders (for which you pay boarding fees) out of catchment from year 9 but the catchment for day pupils is again very tight.spacewoman wrote:We live in Crowborough so secondary education is quite restricted.
Independant schooling is out of our finances. I have emailed Togs, Twggs and weald of kent to see if I can convince them!!! I am tring to get the 11+ details and where to take them but again I am having probs trying to get anything helpful!!!!
Thanks for your replies so far x
Uplands and UCTC are both very good schools but I beleive they are both oversubscibed this year, worth a try to get on a waiting list though.
Re: missed 11+
Do we really need to dig up the mouldering corpse of a thread that died nearly three years ago? OP has now either gone through, or already missed, 13+ admission for said child, never mind 11+.

Didn't even pick up the date of the OP! Just picked it up as a new post!
Well done Mike for pointing that out!
