Hi All,

I understand that you have to register in the July to sit the test in September for the following September Y7.

However, I understood that this is only relatively recent? Did you not used to have to register in the September prior to the September Y7 start, and take the test after Christmas sometime? We have been caught out for 2013 as out of area and mis-communication with current primary school.

Any light shed appreciated.

Thanks,

MrsTwit

Not sure when it changed but my DS is now in Yr9 and was a July (yr5) registration and September (yr6) exam sitter. So it has been like this for at least the last 4 years.

Oh I remember the big hoo hah when it changed. I hadn't realised time had gone past that fast. Oh dear Mrs Twit, that is a pain. Never listen to advice from primary schools on admissions - even if they are in Kent.

yes, the date of the test changed from January to September , so that you had the results before you had to apply for schools, very surprised that your primary didn't know, is this am LA controlled/aided primary?
