Hi everyone does anyone know the percentage of children sitting the 11 plus this year. Espically interested in Kent and Medway. I have just been told they the percentage is a lot higher this year so interested on how many extra people are sitting it this year.

I thought it was opt out in Kent? If so, it would be most. It will vary from area to area enormously. In Bucks it will be a very high percentage.

Both Kent and medway are opt in but I'm hearing all sorts if stories and not sure I it's just to make us even more nervous or whether the percentage has really increased that much!

I've been told 30% medway and Kent, which is concerning me :-/ surely there was not that amount more of children born?

I think it is not more people being born but more OOC hedging their bet and entering 11+ in several areas, some of this for practice only.

The birth rate has been steadily rising since 2001. Families are getting bigger, so, it would follow that there are more siblings. Women on the 25 to 29 years bracket are having more children in their families.
