Hello

My son will be sitting for 11+ in 2015. While I live in Buckinghamshire, I am also looking for other schools in and around London which do not have the catchment policies.

However, something that I would like to take into consideration are the specialities of the grammar schools (I am told some schools may be Mathematics & Engineering specialist schools while others maybe a Languages Specialist schools). Are there any tips / information that are available which can help provide such information.

Thanks in advance for all your help :)

Cheers

Specialisms don't exist anymore as the Government took the funding away. No school had Engineering status - three GS near you had Science status: Sir Henry Floyd, Royal Latin and Aylesbury Grammar (boys). AYlesbury High (girls) did have languages I think. However, do remember that this was a way of getting extra money and did not mean the school's curriculum was any different or even better!

I presume you are also looking closer to home - namely the schools above?

Hello Guest55

Thanks for the information and yes I am looking at these schools definitely. Also exploring the possibility him writing in schools around Kent / Sutton as they do not enforce a catchment policy.

Lets see how things go :)
