Hiya, I always thought so. My 2 did Birmingham CEM 4 years ago and last year and wrote on the papers BUT I notice looking at example questions this year is different. It says most questions will be multiple choice and there is a separate answer sheet. It shows on examples how to make the pencil mark which we definitely didn't have before. So can it be either???

yes pls.. interested to know MC or write in? first time CEM here this year .. I asked school directly but there was no clear answer. Do the familiarlisation sheets schools have in their site usually tell this? wouldnt it be one less thing to worry about if our DCs knew beforehand.

Mainly mc on a separate sheet plus the occasional writing in numbers on separate answer sheet for maths

The ones for north London seem to be mc based on the familiarisation booklets that I have seen
