Dear Sally-Anne
Had a child, 2 years ago who went to an upper she faced some 'serious' bullying, mum refused to send her to school. Mum hounded admissions, even turning up at the offices, eventually got a test date. At this point I entered the equation, happy to say she passed and got immediate admission from the beginning of the summer term of y7 she has never looked back and is achieving very well.
Very bright girl, mum didn't provide any form of coaching/tutoring for the 11 plus. WHY?. Because the schools tell you not to. [ no comment]

Thanks Patricia
You must be very proud of the girl you describe, and glad to see (as I have been on appeals) common sense getting the better of the system.
I'm going to ask the same question of our Head some time, as I have a sneaking suspicion that he has used this clause to good effect in the past.
