Hi Spongemum
How proud you must be of your daughter for her determination and hard work. She is obviously quite mature and my experience of GS (my son is year is that all these qualities really count. If she has her heart set on Grammar school and she realises she will haveto work hard when she is there too then go for it. With the rght amount of tuition and her extra effor ther's no reason why she wont do well in GS.
Good luck and keep posting I am currently tutoring my year 5 daughter so am happy to offer advice if I can
