Dear Patricia, Forum Mods,

Please could you tell me if the bond books are good for the langley /tiffin entrance .

Do they cover all types of questions for the exam?

I have some NFER exam mcq, saving these to test son in a few weeks.

I have been tutoring my son DIY at home, seems to be doing ok, avg score 90% in vr, 85% nvr, 90% maths. in bond books age 9-10,10-11.

All advice gratefully received from all (fellow parents/teachers/tutors)

thank you in advance

Hi redfish,
bond books are great. I tutored my daughter using them. she sat two tests and passed both. amazon has a wide range of other books. search by keywords verbal reasoning and non verbal reasoning etc.

You should post in the Surrey section for specific answers... Bond are good up to a point... I think you will find they do not cover all the question types for Tiffin.

Regards
SVE

Dear Redfish

The VR test for the Tiffin schools are the same 21 types used for Bucks. Bond should not be used as they cover 50 types in standard form, only 17 are relevant to nfer, 4 are missing.

The following link will help you prepare, explaining which publishers are relevant.

With regard to NVR, I believe Bond are of use, but I am no expert in this discipline.

Good Luck

Patricia

Dear SVE, Patricia and Greatmum,

Many thanks for all the advice and links to appropriate threads.

I have bought the IPS and SD- Bright Sparks books and will work through them systematically.

Thank you again for all the advice, very much appreciated.
