Hi. My daughter is in year 5 and we are encouraging her to take her 11+ in October. Her latest year 5 qca results were reading comprehension 5c, writing 3a, maths 3a. She struggles with her maths and we are going to get her a tutor for the summer holidays. Any advice as to wether its too late and if these results are high enough. We are first timers at the 11+ and are not sure of the procedure. Can anyone with previous experience offer any advice please.Thank you.

It doesn't sound promising, but it may be that something will "click" with the tutor, or that she performs really well at 11+ type stuff, but not SATs type stuff.

Anyhow, a good tutor should have some idea of the standard required for the schools / area concerned, and whether your daughter is likely to achieve it or not. And the tutoring could give her a really useful boost, whether or not it results in 11+ success.

good luck.
