Dartford is known for pushing rugby and does IB in 6th form and is keen to promote itself as 'the best', Wilmington is known for its pastoral care, which is excellent, allows football as well as rugby and still does A Levels in 6th form. Academically there isn't really anything in it

Academically there is a difference in that Dartford, as I understand it, selects more on ability, so it gets better results - not necessarily because it is a better school, but because it is very selective. Wilmington has a large intake based on distance rather than score. Agree that Wilmington has a good reputation for pastoral care. Dartford has always seemed to me to be a bit precious and image conscious. If I'd had to choose between the two I would have gone for Wilmington.
