If you move up the waiting list do you forfeit origina place
Hi,
Just wondered whether anyone knows if you stay on a waiting list and get offered a higher preference school do you automatically get allocated your higher choice or are you given the opportunity to stick with what you've got?
Thanks for any insight.

I think it is only in Hertfordshire that you forfeit your lower preference place... but we had better wait until one of the locals confirms that!

If I remember rightly you can be on as many waiting lists as you like - you are automatically put on all the listsof schools higher than the offered place. Eventually you will receive a letter asking if you still want to be on the list - but I think this was as late as Sept or maybe even later than that.
