Newstead Wood exam
Hello
We are fairly new to the whole process, just found out that Newstead Wood has its own exam? I thought the selection was based on the Kent exam.
For those of you who prepare your daughters for newstead, what materials are best?
We have been using Bond and a few Letts so far, also reading a lot for the vocabulary. SHe tried to do a test paper in VR yesterday (she just started year 5) and got 61/80 correct. Last question - is GL Assessment paper at the level of newstead wood exam? We just bought pack 1 and will start working on it soon, but I am not sure of the level required.
Many thanks for yourt time

Re: Newstead Wood exam
Newstead is in Borough of Bromley and sets its own test. There are two papers, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. The tests are set by GL assessment.

Thank you bromley mum.
So the best materials to work form are GL Assessments then?
Any other materials that would help?
Thanks

I would leave the GL papers till nearer the end. At this stage you need to work on technique, plug any gaps and work on vocabulary.
