Hi my son just missed passing the 11 plus by one point and we lost our appeal in Bexley.
He has been offered a place at Harris Academy in Falconwood, I heard something about
taking the 12 plus in year 7.

I would be grateful for any information anyone has about these tests and what I need to do.

By the way, there's nothing on Bexley council's website about this.

Many thanks.

I may be wrong, but I thought that the 12+ was just for people who have moved into the area and want to join in Year 8.

I'm not 100% sure so maybe proved wrong.

Afraid I do not know much about this subject, but do know a young lady who also missed the 11+ by 1, she took the 12+ a year later and passed, she went onto the waiting list for Townley but decided not to move in the end. This was a few years ago, sure Bexley council would help once things have settled down.

Apparently your child can take the 12 plus exam in their first year of secondary school. This link might help.
http://www.bexley.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=4297" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It says: Children can be admitted to grammar schools after the start of Year 7 if vacancies arise because, for example, other children leave the school. If you would like to apply for a place at a grammar school for your child, you should complete your home local authority's Secondary In Year Admission application form listing your preferred schools and return it to your home local authority. You can apply for schools in any area on the same form.
