Hi all

The letter reached us this morning. With 203 I think the battle is resolutely over for us. I am very disappointed as DD normally achieves better than that. She normally scored above 90% consistently in all papers we have been doing prior to exams. But who knows what goes on in children's brains when they are facing the papers on D-day!
Now I just need to brace myself to give her the news.
And life goes on. :|

Good luck to all out there. If they make it, it's great. If they don't, it's not the end of the world. Just a little bit of bad luck and the necessity of a little more work, not necessarily academic in nature.

Hi

i just received the newstead letter, and my DD did very well. but the problem is we are in group 3. any chance getting in?

if we move in 9 mile radius, do they accept us?

My DD will be very sad i guess as she got very good marks and not getting into newstead.

Bobocha, I don't think Newstead have ever gone to group 3. If you move inside the 9 miles you will jump into group 1 and get in.

We had earlier contacted regarding the moving and they replied...

'Places at all schools are offered by your Local Authority therefore unless you have given them a very good reason as to why you are not already resident in the catchment area then the date by which you must be resident is the date you return your CAF......'

if we update the address with our council, how we update the address with newstead?

we are just out by 0.148 (9.148miles) and we are in greenwich.

By DD got 273 marks and with that marks i guess she can get into newstead.
Wow ! Smashing result. Your DD will be top scorer or near the top..Max score is 280

How are you checking distance ? Did u use 'Draft logic' ?

Rao, we used daftlogic (link given by newstead). we thought that we still can be in 9miles if they round it up. But I guess newstead is very strict with the distance.

if we still have time, we want to do something... :?:
