Hioverprotectivemum wrote:The problem is not how easy the exam was but how many girls took the exam. This year there were 1000 applicants (I heard) comparing to approx. 550 last year which means the likelihood of more girls achieving better scores than my DD is higher this year than previous years. This is also why I think the cut off will be higher and why 227 score may be insufficient. Newstead should at least let parents know about the number of applicants and how many got over a certain score otherwise this is just pure torture.
Just looked on Bromley website, 566 girls put Newstead on their application forms last year, rather than took the test. I assume lulumum2's figures and quote are correct for those who applied for the Newstead test and then actually sat it in 2012.

DD passed with 254. Hopefully this will be enough to get in.
Starting to worry about the travel arrangements now...anyone else have DDs travelling to Newstead from Welling/Bexleyheath?

Letter arrived on Tuesday (& accepted - what's the smiley for phew?!).
Cut off appears to be somewhere around 221-2 as far as I can make out.
