Bexleyheath School - New Structure?

Thought i'd start a new thread about BS - as i am looking for information as to how the classes are made up !
My DS has just joined in Year 7 and the whole school has been completely restructured, which was discussed on the other BS thread, but now he has joined, am curious to know if anybody knows how the classes are set/grouped?
My DS was given his tutor group at his induction and there was some confusion after the inductions, as the tutor groups were put together in mixed ability and renamed to how its been done over the past few years.
Anyway, so i thought my DS would be in his tutor group until he was banded for specific lessons, but he has joined to find out that he only does PE with his tutor group, and for the rest of his classes he is a completely different class, with a different name - which of course is not a problem, but am just curious to how the system works. So if anyone knows please let me know.
I know i could phone the school and ask, but thought i'd wait til a parents evening which i would imagine will be arranged quite soon (normally are).
My DD also goes to BS but as she is now in Year 10, she has started her options courses so her year is set differently.
My DS seems to have settled in really well at BS, helps that his big sister is there, and a lot of children from his primary school go there to, so he feels very comfortable knowing so many children already.
