I think (although I may be remembering wrong) it is 30% (or a third, not sure which) of the GCSE marks so has had quite an effect when all the other modules are A or A*. I don't suppose it will matter too much once she starts A levels.

depends on which board / subject / series etc etc ... makes my brain hurt!

That's part of the problem! OCR 21st Century separate sciences. I need to look it up later.
