about practical at GCSEs
I do not understand. The information leaflets and all info has been given to year 9 pupils starting to study their GCSE this September. Is t possible that the info we have received will be changed in the coming months?

All things seems too much rushed to me and not well thought.

This is English education. What else did you expect?JaneEyre wrote:All things seems too much rushed to me and not well thought.
Re: about practical at GCSEs
The new GCSEs for science are from first teaching in 2016, so this will not affect the current year 9s, who will still be taking the old GCSEs in sciences (and everything else except English and Maths). The current year 8s will take the new GCSEs in a raft of subjects. Useful link here - https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... eforms.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Re: about practical at GCSEs
@ Amber: thank you for making me laugh this morning!
@ 2childmum: thanks a lot for the link. I have plunged again my nose into DS's GCSE booklet. He has no coursework in his sciences hence my confusion,but I imagine some other boards have still some courseworks to do till the next year when all course work will be abolished...

Re: about practical at GCSEs
It would be controlled assessment rather than coursework.
IGCSEs don't have controlled assessments or coursework for sciences
