Can confirm everyone at Latymer takes triple science. They start studying separate sciences in Y9.

At St Michael's in Barnet families are advised that the girls themselves should decide whether they take double or triple science, based on other GCSE's selected and which A level subjects are likely to be chosen. They only sit one GCSE in Y10 (science), and all the rest in y11.

Technically that [above post] is not GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics - that is Core Science, Additional core science and Further core science [or similar names]. You have to sit all 9 in Year 11 to get the separate qualifications - essentially it's the same just certified differently.

Yes, she sat Chemistry, Biology and Physics, and will sit them again this year, but was awarded an A* for them. I understood that she would sit all three subjects this year as a separate award resulting in 2 GCSE's in total for Science. Sorry to sound dim!

She would have to sit another 6 papers [2 in each science] in Year 11 to get the equivalent of triple science.
