League tables are not a way to choose a school - they are all flawed.

Why have you started two identical threads ... ?

This one in particular excludes iGCSEs, so a number of notable grammar and independent schools are missing.

Thank you for the link; its useful to some parents who rely on this kind of data.

Ridiculous when some of the schools only have 9 eligible students in the cohort

Not all igcse's have been excluded. This was DS cohort, 50% of his gcses (including science and both english) were Cambridge igcse, and his school is top 10, so they must have counted.

I understand that some parents find this useful but please don't 'rely' on it. The statistics have flaws - small numbers, changes in which exams 'count' etc - but also the intake of the schools varies so greatly as does the environment they work in.
Your DC will do best at the school best suited to their needs and league tables are at best a small part of deciding this.

When you compare the two tables for State schools amazing to see the contrast and differences.As an example in the first table for GCSE's in 2014 Queen Mary Grammar school for boys comes in at 74.But for added value at KS3 between 2012 and 2014 comes in at number 6.
