Stevew61, wot did ur ds think of last Friday maths paper? Mine thought it was very hard!!
Now that exams are all over, well for most of our dc's, what are everybody's dc's plans? they can't really get a job can they?was hoping mine could do some bar work, ie, washing glasses at uncles restaurant but have to be 18! :roll: He'll be voluntarily helping out at the local charity shop for 2 days of the week, apart from that what else is there?

One of mine trained as a swimming teacher at 16 and got plenty of work. They can also train as lifeguards. You don't have to be 18 for many things.
Oh, except voting. :(

My DS is summer born and wasn't 16 until mid August so we got him to help out around the house and do things for his granddad. He also did NCS which took up 3 weeks of the summer. It was well worth it and my youngest ds in Y10 will do it next year following his exams.

Same here but we prepared for it on that basis. Take some comfort from the grade boundaries.
And remember, you are not supposed to find these papers easy! Just don't give up and keep smiling!

When marking these papers, you might want to use the grade boundaries from the June 2013 paper as a guide
Please note: Paper 1 is out of 70, and Paper 2 out of 105.

C = 33
B = 60
A = 87
A* = 118
A^ = 149
Max = 175

Let's say we are confident of a C (19%) hoping for a B (34%+) and wishing for an A (50%+). :D
